How to survive music festivals

It’s that time of the year again, the weather is hot, but the festival lineup is hotter. From Coachella to Bonanza, music festivals are memorable experiences that can be done right or very wrong. Here are some tips on how you can survive musical festival season the right way.
Whether it’s a day trip or a weekend campout my #1 thing is to always bring sanitation items. Even if it’s a top of the line music festival there is also excess dirt and grime that is kicked around. Not to mention the overfilled bathrooms (YUCK). Don’t be caught ridin’ dirty off the dance floor, pack these items in advance so you can cut off clean.
- baby wipes
- makeup wipes
- travel shampoo/conditioner
- roll of toilet paper (trust me on this one, most festivals run out of toiletries on day 2)
Chances are you won’t have any electrical outlets to charge that phone of yours. And while your battery life may be “good” it’s not “out in the desert for 3 days with bad service good”. I like bringing two portable chargers just to be safe, it’s good to have one for the ride home too.
As I said before, chances are there will be really bad service where the festival takes place (if you have any service at all). In order to maximize your photo-taking put your phone on airplane mode.
Blankets and refillable water bottles
If there is one thing I never fail to bring to a music festival it’s a blanket and refillable water bottles. Most festivals have refillable water stations, so bringing a water bottle to fill up with not only saves you tons of money, but it also saves the planet! As for the blanket, it’s a great way to set up a little space of your own anywhere on the festival grounds (and it makes it so you don’t have to sit on the dirt ground). Plus you never know if it will get a little chilly one night, so having that extra layer is always a plus!
Now this one can be a little tricky, some music festivals allow food into their venue while others don’t. If your festival does allow food, bring non-perishable foods to snack on through the day to prevent hunger and save you money! Some snacks I recommend are:
- protein bars
- trail mix
- dried fruit
Sunglasses and sunscreen
Trust me on this one, the sun is gonna beat down on you. Best be protected with eyewear and body armor!
You are there to have fun, so bring things that you would enjoy. Personally, I like bringing crazy outfits, jewelry, and hair products. The last festival I went to I did something a little fun with my hair, I temporarily colored it with Hair Flash Color. Hair Flash Color is the #1 Hair Makeup in a spray with a natural formula. It is an instant haircare and temporary hair color which totally
disappear in 1 shampoo. It is made with nourishing ingredients like Argan Oil, Castor Oil, Aloe Vera. I applied it just like hairspray, and it came out after one easy wash! Use this code for 10% off your purchase!
It’s a music festival, you will see and hear crazy things but the most important thing you can do is have fun yourself. Don’t take things too seriously and remember to be safe (Uber if you plan to be under the influence). Happy music festival season!Â
