Fashion and beauty picks that were a must have for January.
Welcome to the new year, I know I’m excited for all the new trends and cute clothing and beauty ideas coming this way.
A major inspiration this month was Pinterest’s Trend Watch for 2021, it inspired a lot of my must-have items this month.
From neutral fashion with pops of color to ski minimalism in beauty to binging Bridgerton on Netflix here are my fashion and beauty picks for January.
Neutrals with pops of pastels were my go-to this month. Can you tell I’m ready for a spring roundup?
I loved adding a pattern or chain to an outfit this month. One statement piece can make a whole outfit.
All black outfit
I mean despite loving some pops of color, having an all-black staple outfit is always in style.
Currently obsessed with the black staple fashion outfits I’ve been finding from Missguided.
Accessories have been top of my list since October of last year, but it’s always the little details that bring together a whole outfit.
Nike and Amazon fashion pieces have won my heart this last month.
When I say Nike Air Force 1’s changed my whole outfit game, I mean it. Easily my favorite fashion item of the month. They are versatile, comfortable, and stylish.
Beauty and haircare
January can be a super drying month, and it definitely shows up in my hair and skin. This month I really focused on hydration and shine for my hair.
- Gisou’s Hydrating Honey Hair Mask for the shower.
- The Ouai’s leave-in conditioner for after shower prep.
- Gisou’s Honey Infused Hair Oil for after hair has been dried.
Prep and primers
After getting my hydration down, I wanted to make sure that when I did use heat or extra products for my hair that it would be protected, exfoliated, and soft.
- Gisou’s Propolis Infused Polishing Primer before I style my hair.
- Gisou’s Infused Heat protecting spray before I apply any heat.
- The Ouai’s scalp and body scrub for when I need to detox my scalp in the shower.
Hydration and primers were key to my beauty round-up this month, as I just recently went from a blond to a redhead. Having that proper hydration and protection made the color transition easier and shiner!
While makeup is something I do wear year-round, my face like my hair has been super dry so I really focused on moisturizers and hydrating serums this month.
I stuck to my basics with a mix of high end and drugstore (don’t sleep on ELF!) I hope this next month I can try some more skincare and makeup to add to the roundup.
And that’s my roundup for fashion and beauty picks for January. I’m hoping this next month more new and fun products will come my way to try and rave about.

As always happy writing!
